Can’t adjust the resolution of my second screen after an update to Windows11 – Question Info

I’ve purchased a display port to USB-C adapter to see if connecting the computer directly to the monitor and then adjusting the settings will allow me to then connect back through the surface dock. I’ll report back with my findings.
I guess the conclusion is micorosoft knew the new docks are UsB C so when the driver updates came out they removed any compatibility with Mini DP.
The mini DP doesn’t work on the second monitor This monitor was detected and worked at the native resolution of x Upon listing All available modes for the adapter, only the x resolution was on the list. The video driver was uninstalled but upon reboot the system remains the same with external monitor connections stuck at x I also noticed that when an external monitor is attached, changes to the Screen Brightness Check box are not saved or either the external or laptop display.
When the external monitor is disconnected, the Screen Brightness Check box works for the laptop display.
